Overview

Biomedical acupuncture and dry needling are cutting-edge treatment methods designed to relieve pain, reduce muscle tension, and enhance recovery.

By inserting fine, sterile needles into specific areas of the body, these techniques stimulate natural healing responses, improve blood flow, and release muscle tightness. Unlike traditional acupuncture, dry needling targets muscular trigger points to relieve deep-seated tension and improve movement. At the Orthopaedic Institute, our experienced physiotherapists integrate these evidence-based techniques into personalized treatment plans to address a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or seeking enhanced performance, our approach ensures effective and lasting results.

Overview

Overview

A non-invasive light therapy to accelerate healing, reduce pain, and improve tissue repair.

Low Level Laser Therapy (also known as photobiomodulation) is an advanced, evidence-based treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular healing and reduce inflammation. Unlike surgical or high-intensity lasers, LLLT does not cut or burn. Instead, it penetrates deep into tissues to accelerate the repair process at a cellular level.

Ideal for acute injuries, chronic pain, nerve irritation, or post-surgical recovery, this painless and non-invasive therapy is quickly becoming a go-to adjunct in high-performance rehab. At our clinics, it’s often integrated with other therapies like physiotherapy, chiropractic, or massage for optimal recovery and faster results.

Process – What to Expect

At your appointment, the clinician will assess your condition to determine if laser therapy is appropriate. Treatment is painless and takes only a few minutes per region. The device is held directly over the target tissue, delivering light energy that stimulates cell regeneration and modulates inflammation. Most patients describe a mild warmth or no sensation at all. There’s no downtime—and many begin to notice a difference within 2–3 sessions.
