Ben Murphy Hamilton

Ben Murphy

Clinic Owner and Registered Physiotherapist
Ben began his education studying Kinesiology at Brock University, graduating with Honours in 2012.
 
He went on to complete his Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) degree at Bond University in Queensland, Australia. After completing his physiotherapy degree, Ben worked in private practice in Queensland before returning home to Ontario, Canada. In 2018, he opened the Hamilton Orthopaedic Institute —his first clinic in what would become a much larger network.
 
As of 2025, Ben owns and operates five clinics across Niagara and Hamilton, including locations in Niagara Falls, Thorold, Grimsby, Hamilton, and Dundas. His organizations have grown into one of the region’s largest collaborative orthopaedic and sports medicine networks, partnering with professional sports teams, community athletic groups, and leading healthcare providers.
 
Ben remains actively involved in research, clinical innovation, and outcome-based care. He also teaches as an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) in the McMaster University Physiotherapy program, mentoring students and contributing to academic initiatives.
 
He has completed extensive post-graduate training in manual therapy and adjunct therapies, including acupuncture and dry needling, kinesio and rock taping, matwork and reformer-based Pilates, and Neurokinetic Therapy.
 
Ben is active in the trail and road running community, and treating running-related injuries continues to be one of his special interests.

Cassie completed her undergraduate degrees (BSc in Kinesiology and a BA in Sport & Exercise Psychology) at the University of New Brunswick. Being a member of both the soccer and rugby teams at UNB, she spent a lot of time with the team therapists which led her to pursue her education in this field. She completed her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at McMaster graduating in 2012.

Cassie truly believes in lifelong-learning and is devoted to keeping up with the latest research to deliver evidence-based client centered care. She has pursued continuing education courses in pelvic floor physiotherapy, acupuncture, vestibular rehabilitation, concussion management, and chronic pain. In November 2018 she successfully attained her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy through the CPA, which is the highest level of manual therapy training in Canada, making her a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physical Therapists (FCAMPT).

In her spare time, she enjoys watching and playing sports (Go Leafs, Go cowboys!), working out, and travelling. She also recently started BJJ and has a whole new appreciation for various injuries because of this!

Parth grew up in Niagara Falls but moved to Hamilton in 2017 to pursue an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University. In 2021, he relocated to London to attend the University of Western Ontario, where he earned his Master’s in Physical Therapy. Since returning to the Niagara Region in 2023, Parth has been dedicated to providing exceptional care for his patients in his hometown.

Passionate about helping individuals of all ages achieve their physical goals, manage pain, and develop personalized strategies, Parth focuses on delivering high-quality care. He integrates comprehensive education, tailored exercise plans, and hands-on therapy to help patients return to the activities they love. Committed to ongoing learning, Parth continues to expand his clinical expertise and has recently completed a certification in acupuncture, enabling him to incorporate electroacupuncture into his physiotherapy treatments.

Outside of the clinic, Parth enjoys playing recreational sports, watching thriller movies, spending time with friends, and sharing his love for travel!

Sanskriti earned her degree in physiotherapy in 2014, and she has since worked as a physiotherapist in a variety of medical settings. In order to give her patients effective therapeutic experiences, she has worked with well-known orthopedic surgeons and physicians who specialize in sports surgeries.

She uses a variety of manual techniques, including soft tissue release, joint mobilizations, and manipulation, in addition to other treatment modalities like cupping, taping, exercise therapy, and education. Sanskriti is committed to providing the best possible service and is always learning new things about fitness and wellness. She enjoys traveling to new areas and staying active while she’s not at the clinic.

Victoria Barnes

Resident Physiotherapist

Meet Victoria! She recently graduated from McMaster University with her Physiotherapy degree after completing her BSc at Brock University in 2023. Throughout her training, she had the chance to work with a variety of populations, including athletes on and off the court, MSK patients both generally and post-op, pediatrics, and individuals in spinal cord injury rehab. She is passionate about empowering patients through education and self-management strategies, to help patients feel more confident in their recovery.

Outside of the clinic, you can find her coaching youth volleyball, spending quality time with loved ones, or finding a chocolate bar to devour. She is excited to be joining the team and to continue growing as a physiotherapy resident while supporting patients in reaching their goals!

Dr. Ivetac earned his Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Sciences from Brock University before completing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. With a strong foundation in musculoskeletal health and rehabilitation, he is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for every patient.

His treatment approach is evidence-based and tailored to each person’s unique needs. He utilizes a wide range of therapeutic techniques, including adjustments, joint mobilization, soft tissue therapy, therapeutic modalities, exercise prescription, and patient education. Whether the goal is reducing pain, restoring function, or enhancing overall well-being, Dr. Ivetac is committed to supporting his patients every step of the way.

Ashtyn has always had an interest in the human body. She has loved sports, fitness and nutrition throughout high school and her young adult years. She began her career as a massage therapist over five years ago. Since then, she has added cupping and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization to her tool belt to better treat her patients. She has a passion for learning and continued education and has taught courses and supervised clinics for the massage therapy program at Trillium College. Most recently, Ashtyn has taken on her favourite (and most challenging) role, she became a mother! In January 2023

Ashtyn welcomed her daughter to the world and life sure got busier! She is excited to continue growing her business, while having the flexibility to have an abundance of family time. Ashtyn recognizes that her patient’s conditions and their daily lives are all different, so her treatments must be uniquely tailored to each individual. Her treatments are dynamic, therapeutic and rehabilitative while also being relaxing.

 Alana was born and raised in St. Catharines. She is a graduate of Brock University, with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, and of Ontario College of Health & Technology in Stoney Creek, with a diploma in Massage Therapy.

She has been a Registered Massage Therapist with the CMTO since January 2015. She has previous experience as a Registered Kinesiologist with the COKO from 2013 to 2017.

Alana’s approach is rooted in creating a safe, nurturing environment where patients can relax, release tension, and restore balance. She accomplishes this by consistently participating in many perinatal education courses and programs, as well as providing a trauma-informed approach during her treatments. By combining a range of therapeutic techniques and movement, each treatment is tailored to address the unique challenges faced by this community. She is also committed to creating a trauma sensitive and trauma informed space, fostering healing through compassionate, patient-centered care. Whether you’re seeking relief from pregnancy aches or recovery challenges from childbirth and early parenthood, Alana is dedicated to supporting your well-being with expertise and care.

Alana is continually furthering her knowledge and education to better serve the perinatal community. She has a wide variety of training in prenatal massage, postpartum massage and recovery, cesarean birth rehabilitation, trauma sensitive and trauma informed approaches, MPS scar release therapy, and more!

Alyssia has been a long-time resident of the Niagara Region and has a diverse educational background. She attended Blessed Trinity High School before pursuing her BA in Child & Youth Studies at Brock University and her graduate diploma in Autism & Behavioural Science Analysis at Niagara College. In addition, she obtained certifications as a Personal Support Worker and a diploma in Clinical Manager.

Alyssia has gained valuable work experience in various sectors, including retail, customer service, and private and public healthcare. In 2021, she transitioned into the administrative field, holding positions such as Studio Assistant Manager and Office Administrator. Currently, Alyssia serves as the Clinical Manager at Thorold Orthopaedic Institute, overseeing staff, patient care, HR, and administrative tasks. She takes great pride in ensuring patients feel comfortable and confident in the care they receive. Alyssia has been an invaluable asset to our team and we are excited for the future with her.

When Alyssia has some time to spare, she enjoys venturing outdoors alongside her German Shepherd Bernese Mountain dog, as well as experimenting with different recipes in the kitchen. Recently, she has developed a passion for crafting her own pasta and bread, leading her to develop a deeper appreciation for homemade meals!

Originally from Stoney Creek, Katie Dalziel is a primary care physician specializing in sport and exercise medicine who currently practices in Hamilton and Niagara. She treats patients of various ages and activity levels for the diagnosis and treatment of non-operative musculoskeletal disorders. This comprises platelet rich plasma, hyaluronic acid, and cortisone injections guided by ultrasonography for a variety of ailments.

After completing her medical education at Queen’s University, she went on to McMaster University for her residency and fellowship in sport and exercise medicine. She presently has adjunct positions as an assistant clinical professor at McMaster University and an adjunct professorship in the kinesiology department at Brock University.

Currently serving as head physician for both the Hamilton Forge FC (Canadian Premier League) and Brock University Badgers, is Dr. Dalziel. She recently served as the Chief Medical Officer for the 2022 Canada Summer Games in addition to being a team physician for the Hamilton Tiger Cats. She is still working with elite athletes, both domestically and abroad. She has previously covered sports for Lacrosse Canada, Wrestling Canada, Soccer Canada, Cycling Canada, and Ball Hockey Canada. She even serves as a consultant physician for Niagara College, Fort Erie International Academy, and Crystal Beach Academy locally in the Niagara region.

Because she was formerly a varsity soccer player at Queen’s, Dr. Dalziel leads an active lifestyle that includes hiking, soccer, and volleyball.

Dr. Wade Elliott

Sports Medicine Physician

 

Dr. Wade Elliott practices sport and exercise medicine full-time, with clinics in Grimsby and Burlington, Ontario. Dr. Elliott obtained his diploma in sport medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine in 2002 after completing a fellowship in sport medicine at McMaster University in 2001. He works as an assistant clinical professor in McMaster University’s family medicine department. Dr. Elliott has been the Program Director of the PGY3 Sport & Exercise Medicine residency program at McMaster University since 2006 and is heavily active in medical teaching in the field of sport and exercise medicine. In addition, he has been the previous head of the OMA Section on Sports Medicine and the chair of the CASEM Post Graduate Education Committee (formerly the Fellowship Committee) since 2008.

Additionally, Dr. Elliott works closely with teams and individuals at all levels. He has been the head doctor for Canada’s national track cycling team and Cycling Canada’s chief medical officer since 2016. He was formerly the team physician for the McMaster Mauraders football team (2001–2004), the assistant team physician for the Hamiton Ti-Cats (2001–2003), and the assistant team physician for the Toronto Rock Lacrosse club (2001–2008). Furthermore, Dr. Elliott was a part of the medical staff for the 2003 National and World Road Cycling Championships held in Hamilton as well as the Chief Medical Officer for the ISU Four Continents Skating tournament.

Dr. Elliott specializes in treating patients who are injured or unwell and have a limitation on their capacity to engage in physical activity or sports. These patients include athletes of all ages. In order to maximize their function, he also treats and manages patients with osteoarthritis and provides post-operative exercise and rehabilitation coaching. Patients from the GTA, Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara areas are all welcome.
